Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy or sign up, this site may be paid a commission by the vendor. You pay the same price either way.

What that means in practice

Software vendors and affiliate networks pay a referral fee when a visitor they can trace back to this site becomes a customer. The fee is paid by the vendor out of its own revenue. It is not added to your price, and it does not affect any discount or trial you would otherwise get.

Commission rates differ from vendor to vendor, and the difference can be large: some programs pay a one-off amount per signup, others pay a percentage of subscription revenue for a fixed number of months. That is a real conflict of interest, which is the reason this page exists rather than a line of boilerplate.

How that conflict is handled

• Rankings and verdicts are not sold. No vendor pays for placement, for a higher position in a comparison, or for a particular conclusion, and no vendor reviews an article before it is published.
• Products with no affiliate program are included when they are the right answer, and are recommended on the same terms as products that pay.
• Where a tool is a poor fit for a particular reader, the article says so, including for tools this site earns from.
• Prices, tier names, and feature limits change often. Figures are reported as of the date on the article and are worth confirming on the vendor's own pricing page before you buy.

Where the disclosure appears

A short disclosure appears at the top of every article, before the body text, and a standing notice appears in the footer of every page on the site. This page is the long version of both.

Editorial independence and how articles are produced

Articles are compiled from vendors' published documentation and pricing pages, public product changelogs, and other publicly available sources. Where a claim cannot be traced to a source, it is left out rather than estimated. If you find a figure on this site that is wrong or out of date, send it to hello@owaiskhan.website and it will be corrected.
